Repentance and contrition is always tied to forgiveness and the refreshing moments of the presence of God in our lives! However we must remember that brokenness always establishes a climate and an atmosphere-for the continual grace and presence of God in our lives daily!
Acts 3:19-26 Repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
So what is repentance? It is making a CHANGE because you are truly sorry for what you did! Not sorry you got caught or because you are afraid of hell but because you want to please the Lord God. Change is sometimes a very difficult thing to accomplish. We must enter into the presense of God for true change to take hold and last. For it is in the presence of God that we will find the daily grace to accomplish true change.
