Hupostasis is a Greek word that literally means ‘to stand under or to support.’ The English word is “Substance” and is found in Hebrews 11:1. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith is the foundation that gives the believer the confidence to stand. Faith is translated “evidence” and means “conviction.” The verse could be translated “Now conviction is the support, what we stand under, of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” This inward conviction enables the believer to believe things not yet seen, that God will perform what he has promised. The Word of God is our manuel, our daily playbook.
It is the Word of God that produces faith. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17 Just like you could NEVER be the pitcher for the MBL or the quarter back for the NFL without knowing the playbook, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE FAITH WITHOUT THE WORD OF GOD!! Read the Word, quote the Word, and Pray the Word!
Then allow the Holy Spirit to place a deep conviction within you today. A conviction that you can stand on in the face of HELL itself! God is able and He will make happen those things you have hoped for IF you have NOW FAITH!!
