Colossians 3:15 ~ The Amplified Bible

And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].

I have a pastor friend named Gregory, he reminds me so much of Jesus.  I remember most things he ever said to me.  He reminded me once that the kingdom of God in our lives consists of three vital things; First,  right standing with God ~ Secondly, the joy of the Lord, and finally God's peace ruling in our hearts. When I am about to make a decision, I prayerfully consider the  condition of my heart.  If I am not at peace, I wait.  I let the Holy Spirit be the umpire in this decision.  Now don't get me wrong, I have at times pushed through the lack of peace and I usually find out later why He was telling me to wait.  This is a process to learn how to follow that inner guidance.  As I have walked this journey with Christ I am getting better at listening and obeying.

If you are like me and have blown it a time or two, here's the good news; today is a new day.  Follow peace!
