Our world is spinning out of control. When I was a child we had one day of rest where we devoted ourselves to worship and family.  Today many family members work 6-7 days a week and if they have one day off it is spent cleaning the house, washing the car, doing the lawn, the list goes on and on.

Family dinner time (if there is one) is spent with everyone on their cell phones texting and searching the internet. We live in a culture that expects, promotes and rewards extreme work schedules, endless financial growth and insatiable consumerism.

If we are going to position ourselves for all of the promises of God we must begin with personal reflection. Ask yourself a few key questions. Do I have a balance between doing and being? Do I have any down time? Am I too task oriented instead of relationship oriented?  What about my prayer time?

One of the steps to positioning ourselves for all God has promised   is creating balance in your life–a balance between doing and being. Doing is outer focused, active and task-oriented. Being is inner focused, receptive and relationship-oriented.  Another step is to slow down! We need to give ourselves downtime to rest and recharge.  Stop being so task oriented and focus on what is most important in life…Relationships.  Whether rich or poor, sick or well, we ALL need family and friends.  Even God needed something in eternity.  He needed humanity. He wanted something that would love and worship Him with free will and that He could take pleasure in.  We need this too!  Relationships are vital to balance and in positioning ourselves for all God has for us.

The key to positioning ourselves is ultimately a prayer life. 1 minute in the presence of God can position us for a lifetime.  Nothing can replace the active acknowledgement of God’s presence. We come boldly before the throne of grace (God’s presence) by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19  So today if there are areas of your life that need positioning or RE-positioning so that you can receive all that God has promises, which is ALL that pertains to life and Godliness is our’s by Christ Jesus, then first make sure your sins are forgiven then take time for some personal reflection then position yourself!
