God is all powerful. Job tried his best to describe his power but couldn’t even come close. He declared that all of his description of God only covered the outer fringes of his work. He finally comes to the conclusion that no one can understand the thunder of his power.

“And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?” Job 26:14

Job is a book about a man who was extremely blessed because he was a faithful servant of God. Then Satan comes before God and God offers Job up. God allows Satan to take everything but Job’s life.

Throughout the book Job is in a dialogue with three of his friends. His friends accuse him of being unfaithful to God because they cannot understand why bad things happen to godly people.

In Job’s final discussion with his friends he begins to proclaim the power of God. He declares that God spreads out the northern skies over empty space, he suspends the earth over nothing. God wraps up the waters in his clouds yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. He covers the face of the full moon spreading his clouds over it. He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness. The pillars of heaven quake at his rebuke. Then Job declares that these are but the outer fringe of God’s works!

Are you going through difficult times today? Are people questioning you and your relationship with God? Maybe you are like Job’s friends who can’t understand why bad things happen to Godly people.

When was the last time you meditated on the power of God?

Today meditate on the power of God. Ask God to show you his power like you have never seen it before.
