Prayer is a basic in the Christian faith, but many times we try to complicate it!
There is nothing more effective than a heartfelt prayer. The Lord loves it when we lay our request at His feet and trust Him with the rest. This is not to say that we will get exactly what we pray for, but it is claiming the authority that you have as a child of God.
We need to act on the authority given to us by Christ. Let's take ownership of our calling, and through prayer, bring heaven down to earth!
“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.” James 5:16-18
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
If you feel unsure in the area of prayer, start out simple. Ask the Lord to start a journey of consistent prayer. Think of it as a conversation with the Lord. He loves to hear your voice, and He loves to talk to you in return. The more you pray, the more you will begin to see the fruit of prayer and implement it as a daily habit.
